Electric vehicles go to Washington

Thanks to a bill introduced by Michigan Rep. Dale Kildee, we'll soon be seeing electric-vehicle charging stations in the U.S. Capitol parking lots.

The bill passed the House last week, and a companion bill passed the Senate in May.

Kildee said he hoped the action "will make owning electric vehicles more accessible for consumers and encourage others to install charging stations."

Since users will pay a charging fee, it's not expected to cost the government any money.

Hmmm. Think Michigan's Capitol might be next?
