Ford's EV foray is under way!

Starting this month in California, New York and New Jersey, Ford has begun certifying dealerships to sell the manufacturer's Michigan-made Focus Electric. Michigan won't be far behind: dealers are expected to begin selling the electric vehicles here by late spring or summer, and the car will be available across the country by the end of the year.

In order to be certified, dealers must have at least two onsite charging stations and complete specialized training in electric vehicles. Production began on the Focus Electric at the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne in December.
