‘The Volt has no equal’

“When it comes to plug-in reliability, the Volt has no equal,” according to a J.D. Power survey cited a few days ago on the InsideEVs website.

The data came from J.D. Power’s dependability study of the most reliable three-year old vehicles, and the 2011 Volt came out on top in its first year of being included. In the survey of 41,000 owners of 2011 vehicles, the Built by Michigan Chevrolet Volt edged out the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic as the best compact car..

“The Volt has redefined how Chevrolet’s electrification technology is helping our customers save fuel and reduce emissions without compromising style, comfort and performance,” GM exec Paul Edwards said in the InsideEVs post. The rating “demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with first-class quality and customer experiences.”

In more good news for the Volt, U.S. News & World Report called the 2014 Volt the “Best Upscale Midsize Car for the Money,” saying it “has the best combination of positive reviews, price and long-term ownership costs in its class.”
