Since GM and the ride-sharing service Lyft announced their $500 million partnership back in January, many have been curious what will come of the deal. Recent rumors suggest they could be creating a fleet of autonomous taxis, using the upcoming electric Chevrolet Bolt as its core vehicle.
This would be a big step for self-driving cars, as well as EVs. If true, GM could be the first mainstream automaker to release autonomous cars in the U.S. and doing so would help create real-world data for future autonomous technologies and for electric vehicles as well. Photo: Lyft Inc.
